Brooke Burke
(born September 8, 1971) is an American
television personality and model.
Brooke Burke was the host of
Wild On, which took viewers to some of the hottest, most exotic
places around the world, showcasing popular travel destinations, wild parties,
the best beaches and most unique and secluded locales. "The sun is always
shining somewhere in the world, and that's where we go," says Burke, who has
already been to Spain, the Mayan Riviera, Belize and Aruba. Some of her favorite
activities have been shark diving, riding the rapids, crocodile feeding in
the Black River in Jamaica, and skydiving.
Burke is a former Ford Agency model whose
early assignments included posing for lingerie company Fredericks of Hollywood
and appearing in high-profile ads for Bally's exercise clubs. her work on
Wild On made her a star, leading to appearances in Playboy, Maxim
and other magazines. Brooke Burke's Playboy
appearances did the most to gain her fans around the world.
Burke was born in Hartford,
Connecticut and raised in Tucson, Azrizona by a father of Irish/French descent
and a Jewish American Portuguese mother. She is the 4th of 7 children. She
studied broadcast journalism at UCLA, but was quickly signed to top model
agencies. She did prominent television commercials for Bally Fitness clubs, Coca-Cola,
and Discover Card.
She did the voice
of "Rachel" in Electronic Arts' video game, Need for Speed: Underground 2, and ask the “People and
Places” questions in the new video game, Trivial Pursuit Unhinged.
Burke is now the host
of the CBS reality show Rock Star: Supernova.
